Pakistan Navy seizes $1 million worth of drugs in Arabian Sea operation

Islamabad – The Pakistan Navy has successfully intercepted a vessel carrying a large haul of drugs worth an estimated $1 million during a counter-narcotics operation in the Arabian Sea, the navy’s media wing reported on Wednesday.
The operation, conducted by Pakistan Navy Ship (PNS) Moawin with support from the navy’s air assets, took place in the North Arabian Sea. The navy successfully boarded a dhow and discovered the narcotics hidden in a concealed compartment on the vessel. The seized drugs are believed to be worth approximately $1 million in the international market.
The Pakistan Navy, in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies, routinely carries out such operations to disrupt illegal marine activities and ensure law and order in the country’s territorial waters.
A spokesperson for the navy emphasised that this successful operation underscores the Pakistan Navy’s vigilance and professionalism in combating illegal activities at sea. “The successful execution of this anti-narcotics operation demonstrates our resolve to deter and disrupt all illegal activities, ensuring good order at sea,” the statement read.
This operation is part of the ongoing efforts by the Pakistan Navy to safeguard national waters and curb the illegal drug trade in the region.
