Pakistan Receives $5.17 Billion from Global Sources in Seven Months

Pakistan received $5.17 billion from external sources during July to January. The data came from documents released by the Ministry of Economic Affairs. The report showed strong financial support from several global partners. These funds aimed to support the national budget and development projects. Officials said the inflows helped ease economic pressures.
Meanwhile, Pakistan secured $1.84 billion as budgetary support during the period. In addition, the country received $1.90 billion for development projects. These funds targeted infrastructure and economic growth programs. Government officials said international partners played an important role. Therefore, Pakistan continued to rely on external financing.
Among partner countries, Saudi Arabia provided the largest financial support. The kingdom extended a $700 million loan to Pakistan. It also offered another $700 million through a deferred oil payment facility. This support helped Pakistan manage energy costs and stabilize finances.

China provided a loan of $540 million during the same period. The International Monetary Fund disbursed $200 million to Pakistan. In addition, Standard Chartered Bank extended a loan of $140 million. These contributions strengthened Pakistan’s external financing position.
major international lenders also provided support. The Asian Development Bank gave $630 million in financial assistance. The World Bank disbursed $850 million for various projects. The Islamic Development Bank also provided $530 million in financing. Meanwhile, Pakistan received $622.7 million in January alone.
