Pakistan, Sri Lanka Pledge Stronger Security, Anti-Narcotics Cooperation

Pakistan and Sri Lanka have agreed to enhance cooperation between their interior ministries, focusing on internal security, counter-terrorism, and anti-narcotics efforts. Federal Interior and Narcotics Control Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited Sri Lanka’s Ministry of Home Affairs. He was warmly received by Sri Lankan Minister for Home Affairs and Parliamentary Affairs Ananda Wijepala. The visit aimed to strengthen bilateral ties in law enforcement and security collaboration.

During the meeting, both sides discussed boosting mutual assistance in internal security operations, counter-terrorism, and drug control measures. Officials also explored forming a joint strategy against cybercrime and financial fraud networks. The discussions highlighted the need for shared intelligence and coordinated operations. Both countries emphasized stronger collaboration to improve public safety. They agreed to develop mechanisms for regular communication between agencies.

The two nations also focused on curbing illegal immigration and narcotics trafficking through joint coordination. Pakistan and Sri Lanka pledged to share expertise and resources to tackle cross-border challenges. Plans were made to enhance joint monitoring and enforcement initiatives.
