Pakistan successfully launches first locally made electro-optical satellite

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has successfully launched its first locally manufactured electro-optical satellite, marking a significant milestone in the country’s space program. Vice Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar extended his congratulations to the Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) for this remarkable achievement.
In a statement shared on the social media platform X, Ishaq Dar expressed his pride in the development, describing it as a pivotal moment for Pakistan’s space exploration efforts. He noted that the launch of the satellite would have a wide range of benefits, including improving the country’s ability to monitor natural resources, predict natural disasters, and respond effectively to them.
The newly launched electro-optical satellite will also assist in improving food security by providing precise data on crop health, contributing to informed decision-making that will drive economic development.
Dar further emphasised that the satellite is a testament to SUPARCO’s technical expertise and the government’s commitment to advancing space technology for peaceful purposes. The launch of this Earth observation satellite demonstrates Pakistan’s growing capabilities in space technology and its potential to contribute to global advancements in this field.
