Pakistan, UAE Pledge Stronger Cooperation in Security and Immigration – Mohsin Naqvi’s Official Visit

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi paid an official visit to the United Arab Emirates, where he held high-level discussions with UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral ties in areas of security, counter-narcotics, immigration, and technology integration. Minister Naqvi was welcomed with a guard of honour and introduced to senior UAE officials during his visit to the UAE Ministry of Interior.

  • Visa facilitation for Pakistani citizens, particularly work visas
  • Cooperation in anti-smuggling and counter-narcotics efforts
  • Integration of artificial intelligence and modern surveillance in policing
  • Training exchanges and joint public safety initiatives

Minister Naqvi stressed the importance of relaxing visa policies:

“We want Pakistani citizens to come to the UAE with ease. Relaxation in visa policies will bring great relief.”

The UAE Interior Minister assured Pakistan of full cooperation and support on these matters.

During the visit, Naqvi toured the Abu Dhabi Police Operations Centre, where he was briefed on advanced policing systems, surveillance tools, and AI-based crime prevention. He expressed strong interest in implementing similar technologies in Pakistan.
