Pakistani actress Nazish Jahangir reveals narrow escape from Karachi plane crash

Pakistani actress Nazish Jahangir recently shared a chilling revelation about a close call she had with a deadly plane crash that occurred in Karachi nearly five years ago. During a recent podcast, Jahangir disclosed that she was supposed to board the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) flight that tragically crashed in May 2020 but missed the flight for unknown reasons.
The PIA flight, travelling from Lahore to Karachi, crashed into a residential area in Karachi’s Model Colony, killing around 100 people on board and causing significant damage to nearby homes. The actress, who had a ticket for the ill-fated flight, explained that she had planned to visit Karachi after spending 60 days in quarantine following the COVID-19 lockdown but was unable to make it due to unforeseen circumstances.
Reflecting on the incident, Nazish Jahangir expressed her gratitude for not boarding the flight. “After hearing about the accident, I felt an overwhelming sense of relief and thankfulness,” she said, acknowledging how lucky she was to have missed the flight.
In the podcast, Jahangir also shared some personal travel experiences, including her first air journey to Saudi Arabia with her parents and her first solo trip to the Maldives with friends. Despite initially not liking Karachi during her first visit from Islamabad, the actress now has a fondness for the city.
Jahangir also spoke about her tendency to miss flights. She revealed that she had missed six flights in a single day while travelling from Islamabad to Karachi, despite her best efforts to make it on time.
The tragic crash of the PIA flight, which occurred during the post-lockdown period, remains a painful memory for many, and Jahangir’s narrow escape serves as a reminder of how unpredictable life can be.
