Passport Department Introduces Easy Biometric Verification via Pak ID App

The Passport and Immigration Department has introduced a major digital upgrade, making biometric verification significantly easier for citizens applying for passports online.
In collaboration with NADRA, the department has launched a new fingerprint verification system that enables applicants to authenticate their biometrics directly through the Pak ID mobile application.
Officials confirmed that users facing difficulties in fingerprint recognition can also opt for face verification, ensuring smooth processing of online passport applications.
To begin the application, users must log in to the online passport portal and proceed to the fingerprint stage, where they will be prompted to open the Pak ID app and select the “Online Passport” option under the biometric verification section.

Applicants can then enter their passport tracking ID and CNIC number to complete the process using either fingerprint or facial verification. The app verifies the information within seconds.
Once verification is complete, a confirmation message appears, directing applicants to return to the web portal and submit their application. After completing the remaining steps, the online passport request can be officially processed.
