Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman, chief of Jamaat-e-Islami, has strongly criticized the recent increase in petroleum prices, calling it an ظلم (injustice) on the public.
In his statement, he said that the decision has severely affected low-income and middle-class segments of society, adding that the government has also increased taxes, further burdening citizens.
He rejected the hike in petroleum prices, stating that raising petrol prices up to 458 rupees is excessive and unfair to the general public.
He further added that earlier increases of 55 and then 137 rupees have compounded difficulties for ordinary people, particularly impacting bikers, delivery workers, students, and laborers.
