Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium is set to be 90% demolished and rebuilt. In preparation for the Champions Trophy, not only the main building but also ten enclosures will be torn down and reconstructed. The seating capacity at Gaddafi Stadium will increase from 27,000 to over 30,000.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to postpone the renovation plans for the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium until after the Champions Trophy, redirecting its grant to Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore instead. According to sources, the redevelopment of Gaddafi Stadium is expected to cost over 9 billion rupees.

Along with the Champions Trophy final, two key matches involving India will also be held at Gaddafi Stadium.
