PM Shehbaz Responds to Shahzaib Rind’s Plea, Hands Rs5 Million Cheque to Fighter’s Father

Islamabad – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday fulfilled a long-overdue promise by personally handing over a cheque of Rs5 million to Khair Muhammad, the father of internationally acclaimed MMA fighter Shahzaib Rind.

The meeting took place at the Prime Minister’s Office in Islamabad and came shortly after public criticism by the athlete over unfulfilled government commitments.

PM Shehbaz praised Rind’s remarkable achievements on the international stage and expressed hope for his continued success in upcoming matches.

He acknowledged the pride that Shahzaib has brought to the nation through his victories in global martial arts competitions.

The move followed a recent outcry from Shahzaib Rind, who took to social media to express his frustration over unmet promises. In a now-deleted post on X (formerly Twitter), Rind disclosed that he had been promised Rs5 million in cash and Rs80 million for training support by the federal government following a major international victory.
