KP House to arrest PTI leaders

ISLAMABAD: A heavy police contingent raided the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) House in Islamabad to arrest Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders. The operation was conducted in connection with a case registered at Kohsar Police Station on November 26. However, the raid ended without any arrests, sources confirmed. Police left the premises after discovering that the nominated leaders were not present at the location.

According to sources, the raid targeted PTI MPA Meena Khan, Shafi Jan, and Dr. Amjad. The arrests were sought following non-bailable warrants issued by an anti-terrorism court. Police officials said the operation was part of efforts to implement the court’s directives. However, no confrontation occurred during the search, and the premises were cleared soon after.

Meanwhile, the Balochistan government has denied PTI permission to hold a political rally in Quetta. The decision was made due to serious security concerns and the fragile law and order situation in the province. PTI, along with its allied opposition parties, had planned to hold a public gathering at the Hockey Ground on November 7, 2025. However, the authorities imposed Section 144 in Quetta, banning public assemblies of more than five people.

According to official sources, the district administration informed the Balochistan High Court (BHC) that the rally could not be allowed. The report cited the deteriorating security situation and threats of possible attacks. The administration emphasized that maintaining public safety remained its top priority. The court was informed that intelligence agencies had issued warnings about potential terrorist activity in the region.

The decision comes amid a series of deadly incidents in Balochistan. In September, a powerful bomb blast killed at least 15 people and injured 72 others at Shahwani Stadium in Quetta. The explosion occurred near a Balochistan National Party (BNP) rally despite tight security. Officials said 112 security personnel had been deployed for the event. The tragic incident has intensified concerns about public safety and prompted stricter security measures across the province.

In a strong statement, she said former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had united the nation against terrorism and led successful operations to eliminate the threat. She claimed that the PTI founder violated the National Action Plan, which was a unified national strategy introduced by Nawaz Sharif.

“The PTI founder provided shelter, funding, and support to terrorists and resettled them in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,” she stated.
