President Trump accuses Ukrainian President Zelensky of insulting the United States

In a recent development, U.S. President Trump has accused Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky of disrespecting the United States, further straining relations between the two leaders.
The tension escalated during a meeting at the White House, where President Trump expressed dissatisfaction with President Zelensky’s stance on peace negotiations concerning the ongoing conflict in Ukraine. President Trump stated that Zelensky is not prepared for peace and has insulted the United States. He emphasised that while the U.S. seeks peace, Zelensky seems to believe that the U.S. would benefit more from peace talks. President Trump remarked that when Zelensky is ready for peace, he is welcome to return for discussions.
In response, President Zelensky has refused to apologise for the heated exchange. In an interview, he acknowledged that the events at the White House were unfortunate but maintained his stance, indicating that he would not return to the White House even if given the opportunity.
The incident has drawn reactions from various international figures. Former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev commented that President Zelensky faced a stern reprimand at the White House. The Russian Foreign Ministry noted that the restraint shown by President Trump and Vice President J.D. Vance was remarkable, especially considering that Zelensky allegedly made false claims during the meeting.
