Islamabad – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is set to depart for Ankara today (Tuesday) for an official visit to Türkiye, where he will engage in comprehensive discussions with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The visit is part of ongoing efforts to deepen Pakistan and Türkiye’s longstanding partnership. Both nations share strong historical, cultural, and strategic ties, marked by regular high-level interactions and close cooperation across various sectors.

Prime Minister Sharif will hold detailed talks with President Erdogan during his stay, focusing on bilateral relations, regional developments, and broader international issues. The two leaders are expected to explore new avenues for collaboration, reinforcing their mutual commitment to peace, stability, and prosperity.

Pakistan and Türkiye have institutionalised their cooperation through the High Level Strategic Cooperation Council (HLSCC), a leadership-level platform that facilitates joint efforts on matters of mutual interest. The 7th session of the HLSCC was convened in Islamabad earlier this year, with both leaders co-chairing the meeting.
