PTA announces 5G spectrum auction on March 10

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has announced that the 5G spectrum auction in Pakistan will take place on March 10, 2026.

Officials said the final auction schedule will be confirmed after regulatory coordination and consultation with relevant stakeholders.

The PTA stated that the confirmed timeline will allow telecom operators sufficient time to prepare for the bidding process.

Authorities emphasized that the auction will be conducted transparently and participatorily, with all bidders advised to review the information memorandum carefully.

In addition, the PTA reminded citizens that responsible use of social media is a shared national responsibility across Pakistan.

The authority urged users to avoid sharing illegal, hateful, defamatory, or false content that could damage the reputation of state institutions, individuals, or the judiciary.

The PTA warned that violations of these rules are strictly punishable under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA), 2016, ensuring accountability for online misconduct.
