PTI calls for urgent hearing of 26th constitutional amendment case
In opposition to the 26th constitutional amendment, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has called on the judiciary to accelerate the hearing of its lawsuits.

PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar said the amendment was enacted by a government with a “fake majority” during a news conference with party leaders.

All judges should hear the matter and render a ruling, he underlined.

Gohar reaffirmed the Election Commission’s constitutional obligation to safeguard PTI’s mandate, emphasising that the party retained the ability to regain it.

He further said that the PTI founder urged peace between the military and the civilians in a letter to the army leader.

Opposition Leader Omar Ayub, meanwhile, charged that the government was repressing PTI leaders in bars and blamed the court for not upholding constitutional primacy.
