ISLAMABAD: Chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Barrister Gohar Ali, denied any deal being struck and clarified that ongoing talks are focused on improving the political system of the country, ARY News reported on Tuesday.

Speaking to the media at the Judicial Complex, Gohar Ali emphasised that PTI was not negotiating any secret deals. “If a deal were to take place, we wouldn’t hide it,” he stated.

The PTI leader further explained that discussions were centred around the betterment of the political framework and strengthening the system. He also addressed the importance of working relationships between political figures and the military, stating, “Ali Amin Gandapur used to meet with the army chief to discuss law and order matters. Working relations are necessary.”

Regarding a separate issue, Gohar Ali mentioned reports that the court would announce a decision in the 190 million pounds case. He stated that the founder of PTI had been asked to appear before the court at 9:00 AM. “However, he informed them that he would appear only when his lawyers arrived, as none of his trials had ever commenced before 11:00 AM,” Gohar Ali added.

The PTI chairman reiterated the party’s commitment to the success of the ongoing talks, emphasising that they were being conducted for the betterment of the country.

The next session of talks is scheduled for January 16.
