PTI Chairman Gohar denies deal behind delay in 190 million pounds reference decision

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar on Monday denied allegations that the delay in the decision of the 190 million pounds reference against party founder and former Prime Minister Imran Khan was the result of any deal.
Speaking to the media outside Adiala Jail alongside PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja, Gohar asserted that Imran Khan was not the owner of Qadir University, but merely a trustee. He emphasized that the Al-Qadir case was politically motivated and added that injustice had been done to them. Gohar also claimed that the inclusion of Bushra Bibi’s name in the case was part of a strategy to exert pressure on PTI’s founder.
“We are not concerned about the cases,” Gohar said. “We have come to court today to hear the decision.”
The PTI chairman clarified that it was the responsibility of the jail administration to bring Imran Khan from jail to court, and they had arrived at the court as per the scheduled 11 AM time for the decision. He expressed confidence in the higher judiciary and said they would approach the higher courts for justice, believing that, like other cases, this one would eventually be resolved as well.
During the media interaction, Salman Akram Raja mentioned that negotiations were ongoing, with the third round of talks expected on January 15. He reiterated that these negotiations were not related to any deals but were aimed at ensuring democracy and justice in the country.
Raja also addressed the rumors that a deal was being brokered, saying, “We are not making any deal. The negotiations and this case are separate matters.”
