PTI presents key demands in the 2nd round of talks with the government

Islamabad – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has tabled two key demands during the second round of negotiations with the government, as political dialogue continues between the two sides. PTI’s demands include the formation of a judicial commission to investigate the events of May 9 and November 26, as well as the release of PTI founder Imran Khan and other political prisoners.
The in-camera meeting, which is being held at the Parliament House in Islamabad, is chaired by National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq. The government delegation includes key negotiators such as Federal Minister Ishaq Dar, Rana Sanaullah, and Irfan Siddiqui.
PTI has also requested the government to refrain from filing additional cases against political prisoners and ensure that the existing cases are resolved by the law. The party has warned that it will resort to a protest movement if its demands are not addressed promptly.
The ongoing talks come with a deadline set by PTI for their conclusion by January 31, 2025. The party has emphasised the need for a swift resolution to the issues at hand.
In a statement to the media outside Adiala Jail, Special Inquiry Committee (SIC) head Hamid Raza conveyed that Imran Khan has expressed confidence in the negotiating committee, which is actively working to resolve the issues with the government.
