PTI rift widens as Salman Akram Raja slams Aliya Hamza’s sarcastic tweet

Lahore: Internal rifts within the PTI have surfaced after a sarcastic tweet by PTI Punjab Organiser, Aliya Hamza, criticising party leadership for being excluded from a recent meeting in Lahore.

PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja strongly reacted to the tweet, calling it irresponsible and warned of possible disciplinary action if such behaviour continues. He clarified, however, that there are no immediate plans to remove her from the party.

Raja stated, “Aliya was appointed to energise the party, not to air grievances on social media. She turned a successful event into an unnecessary controversy.”

He further emphasised that the party would follow the strategy laid out by Imran Khan, and that no one was deliberately excluded from the Lahore meeting—non-participation was a personal decision.

Aliya Hamza had hinted in her tweet that she was intentionally sidelined from the key meeting, triggering a wave of reactions and infighting amongst PTI leaders.
