Public Rejects Protest Calls by TLP and PTI

The public has completely rejected the protest calls given by Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), said Information Minister Attaullah Tarar. Throughout the country, business activities continued normally, and no demonstrations took place. Markets and shops remained open, showing that people prefer peace and stability over unnecessary protests.

In a media talk, Minister Tarar said that such protest calls without a clear purpose always fail because the public now supports peace, progress, and stability. He also mentioned a high-level meeting chaired by the Prime Minister regarding the return of Afghan refugees. Representatives from all provinces except Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Chief Minister attended the meeting, while the CM himself stayed away despite being in Islamabad.

The minister expressed disappointment at the absence of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Chief Minister during this important discussion on security and law enforcement. He added that the CM’s political priorities seem to focus more on social media than on addressing real issues, which harms the people of the province. The meeting also recognized the sacrifices of security forces and discussed compensation for police martyrs.

Minister Tarar further emphasized that the protest calls by TLP and PTI were fully rejected by the public, traders, and business communities. There were no protests, and business continued as usual across the country. He praised Pakistan’s unified stance on the issue of Gaza and Palestine, thanking God that Pakistan consistently supports the rights of Palestinians and calls for an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.
