Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz condemns violence against police during PTI protests

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has strongly condemned the violent attacks on police personnel by PTI protesters. Expressing deep sorrow, she stated that the incidents were alarming and regrettable, leaving over 20 police officers, including senior officials such as SPs, DSPs, and SHOs, injured.

In her statement, CM Maryam highlighted the presence of short machine guns and tear gas among the protesters, which were reportedly used during the clashes. She alleged that police-issued weapons were also used in attacks on law enforcement personnel.

According to the Chief Minister, it occurred at various locations, including Ghazi Barotha, Mianwali, and the Hazara Motorway, further escalating tensions.

Maryam Nawaz called for an immediate end to such actions and reaffirmed her government’s commitment to maintaining law and order. “Violence against law enforcement is unacceptable and will be dealt with firmly,” she said.
