Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz launches the Asaan Karobar loan scheme

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced the launch of the Asaan Karobar Loan Scheme, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at providing interest-free loans to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) across the province. The scheme is designed to stimulate entrepreneurship, create jobs, and enhance exports, with a focus on priority sectors within Punjab.
The main objective of the Asaan Karobar Loan Scheme is to offer financial support to new startups while also enabling existing businesses to expand and modernise their operations. By making funding more accessible, the scheme seeks to be a catalyst for economic growth, especially for businesses that face challenges in securing traditional financing.
The loan scheme is expected to have a significant impact on the province’s economy by supporting the growth of SMEs, which play a vital role in job creation and overall economic development.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the Asaan Karobar Loan Scheme, businesses must meet the criteria for small or medium enterprises. Small businesses with annual sales of up to PKR 150 million and medium-sized enterprises with annual sales between PKR 150 million and PKR 800 million are eligible to apply for financial assistance.
