Punjab Government Announces Major Developments: Air Punjab and Bullet Train Projects in the Pipeline

LAHORE – The Punjab government has unveiled two major transportation projects, bringing exciting news for the province’s residents. Provincial Information Minister Azma Bokhari announced that “Air Punjab” will launch within the next eight to twelve months, while a new bullet train service is also set to be introduced in collaboration with Pakistan Railways.
Speaking at a press conference, Azma Bokhari revealed that four aircraft will be leased for the airline, marking the first time the Punjab government will operate its air service. “We are taking a historic step by launching our very own airline to serve the people of Punjab,” she stated.
Alongside the airline, Bokhari shared plans for the initiation of high-speed and glass trains, including the launch of six new routes. She emphasised that Pakistan Railways will be revamped with modern infrastructure and services to meet international standards.
Commenting on recent developments following the Pahalgam incident in Indian-occupied Kashmir, Bokhari rejected India’s accusations against Pakistan. She clarified that the group claiming responsibility for the attack has no links to Pakistan and criticised India for escalating anti-Pakistan propaganda.
Bokhari also condemned India’s move to block Pakistan’s official X (formerly Twitter) account and highlighted the ongoing human rights violations against Kashmiris.
