Lahore, Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, has announced the launch of Pakistan’s first-ever Minorities Card, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at empowering minority communities. The announcement was made during a special Christmas ceremony in Lahore, where she highlighted the vital contributions of the Christian community to the country’s development.

Addressing the gathering, Maryam Nawaz stated, “For the first time in Pakistan’s history, we are introducing the Minorities Card. If it were up to me, I would increase the budget for minorities by 5,000%.” She emphasized the government’s commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable society where every citizen can live without fear of violence or discrimination.

The Minorities Card initiative is expected to provide financial, social, and legal support to religious minorities, marking a significant step toward ensuring their welfare and integration into mainstream society.

During the ceremony, Maryam Nawaz extended warm Christmas greetings on behalf of herself and Pakistan Muslim League-N leader Nawaz Sharif. She also participated in the traditional cake-cutting ceremony, celebrating the festive spirit with members of the Christian community.

This historic initiative reflects the Punjab government’s efforts to promote unity and respect for diversity in Pakistan. The Minorities Card will be officially launched in January, paving the way for greater inclusion and support for marginalized communities.
