Punjab home department launches online portal for firearm license modifications

The Punjab Home Department has introduced a significant digital initiative aimed at streamlining the process of modifying and updating individual firearm licenses. Citizens can now apply online for various services related to firearm licenses, including changes to firearm bore, category modifications, and ammunition additions.

In addition to these updates, the new online platform also facilitates the submission of applications for the inheritance transfer of weapon licenses, as well as requests for duplicate licenses. The digital system allows users to handle all necessary processes, including the sale of firearms and the extension of license validity, from the comfort of their homes.

The online platform also enables users to submit legal documents and pay the required fees digitally, eliminating the need for in-person visits. The new module, which has been developed under the Punjab Arms Rules 2023, aims to make the entire process more efficient, accessible, and transparent.
