Punjab Minister Announces Advanced Air Quality System

Punjab Launches Advanced Air Quality Forecast System to Tackle Smog and Pollution
Punjab has launched a new air quality forecast system to help control pollution and improve public health. Provincial Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb announced the system on Saturday. It combines real-time monitoring with modern scientific models to provide daily updates. The system is designed to meet local needs and follows the modern air quality index. It will forecast both weather conditions and pollution levels.
The government has installed 41 air quality monitoring stations across Punjab as part of this plan. According to the minister, this number will increase to 100 in the coming days. These stations collect real-time data on air quality across major cities. This data will help authorities take quick action to reduce pollution. Weekly reports will also be shared with the public for greater awareness.
Marriyum Aurangzeb stated that this system is a key step in the fight against smog. She said a major crackdown is also planned against burning crop residue. This harmful practice is a major cause of air pollution, especially in the winter. With this new system, the government aims to detect and prevent such activities faster. The goal is to protect both the environment and public health.
Modern equipment will be used to track pollution, weather changes, and hygiene risks. This will help people take safety measures in high-risk areas. The system will also guide health safeguards based on real-time air quality data. People can plan outdoor activities more safely using this information. Schools, hospitals, and public spaces will benefit most from early warnings.
In conclusion, the air forecast system marks a major milestone in Punjab’s fight against pollution. It shows the government’s commitment to science-based policy and cleaner air. With more stations, better data, and stronger action, Punjab hopes to see real improvements. This effort is part of a broader environmental plan to make cities safer and healthier.
