Punjab to Launch 1,100 Electric Taxis in New Green Transport Plan

Punjab is starting a new project to launch 1,100 electric taxis as part of a plan to improve public transport and reduce air pollution. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif led a meeting where officials approved the first phase of the project.
The government will also build solar-powered charging stations for the taxis and may place them at petrol pumps for easy access. The project includes financial support to make e-taxis affordable.
The meeting also discussed the Yellow Line metro project and new transport routes in Gujranwala. The goal is to make travel easier, faster, and more eco-friendly for the people of Punjab.
