Rain and Hailstorms Bring Cold Weather to KP

PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa experienced a sudden shift in weather on Monday, with several areas receiving rain and hailstorms. The rainfall followed a period of dry conditions in the province. As a result, temperatures dropped, bringing a sudden chill to the region. The weather changes have been particularly intense in areas like Swat and Lower Dir.
In Swat, hailstorms intensified the cold weather, covering the landscape in a white blanket. The sudden shift in weather made the region even colder. Similarly, areas in Lower Dir were also affected by heavy rain and hailstorms. These conditions transformed the landscape, with hail covering the ground in many parts.
Upper Dir was also impacted by dark clouds, which brought rainfall and frosty winds. The combination of rain and cold winds worsened the cold spell. The region saw temperatures plummet, making the conditions even more uncomfortable for residents. The cold weather intensified in many parts of the province due to the persistent weather patterns.
The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) issued a forecast predicting more rain and snowfall over the mountains. The weather is expected to persist from the night of November 3rd until November 5th. According to the Met Office, a westerly wave is likely to affect the upper parts of the country. This will bring rain and snowfall in several districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and other regions.
The PMD also warned that day temperatures will drop significantly during this wet spell. Night temperatures are expected to remain low as well. Additionally, foggy and smoggy conditions are expected to subside during the rainfall but will redevelop afterward. The ongoing wet conditions are expected to keep the weather cold and damp in the coming days.
