ISLAMABAD – Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir has said that rapid spread of false and misleading is an important challenge.

He was addressing a special ceremony of Margalla Dialogue 2024 organized by Islamabad Policy Research Institute on Friday. “Freedom of expression without rules and regulations is becoming a source of deterioration of moral values in all societies.”

Highlighting Pakistan’s key achievements in forwarding regional harmony and international peace, the COAS said that terrorism under patronage of a state was a big challenge at the international level.

“Fitna-ul-Khwarij has become a haven for all terrorist organizations and proxies. We hope that the Afghan interim government will not allow the use of its soil for terrorism,” he said.

He said that a comprehensive border management regime was established to secure the western borders of the country.

COAS Asim Munir said that continuing cruelty and barbarism in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) was a sequel to the Hindutva ideology. “Owing to India, minorities are not safe even in America, Britain and Canada. Resolution of the Kashmir dispute is inevitable according to resolutions of the United Nations,” he added.

The COAS said that Pakistan had always stressed the establishment of an independent state of Palestine. “We will continue to play our role for peace and stability without becoming part of any international dispute,” he declared.
