Rawalpindi: Sheikh Rashid on the appointment of Chief Justice Yahya Afridi

Sheikh Rashid Ahmed announced that for the first time, a member of the Afridi tribe has been appointed as Chief Justice. He noted that the Afridis have a proud history of overcoming challenges, having defeated the British, Sikhs, Russians, and Americans.
Ahmed expressed hope that Chief Justice Yahya Afridi will bring justice to the country. He praised Justice Manib and Justice Mansoor Ali Shah for their wisdom in their roles.
He stated that the dreams some leaders held have now been shattered. Regarding the 27th amendment, he indicated that Maulana Fazlur Rehman will call for protests against it.
Ahmed commented on the ongoing situation with Justice Qazi Faez Isa, suggesting there is little need for further discussion. He urged the Army Chief to grant amnesty to those in need, emphasizing that access to the courts is challenging for the average citizen.
He criticized Maulana Fazlur Rehman for undermining the 26th amendment, claiming it will burden both the PML-N and PPP. He warned that they should abandon their dreams of the 27th amendment, suggesting that if Rehman calls for protests, he will face consequences.
