Remembering Munnu Bhai (Muneer Ahmed Qureshi) on his 7th death anniversary today

Today marks the seventh death anniversary of Muneer Ahmed, fondly known as Munnu Bhai, a legendary poet, playwright, and columnist who left an indelible mark on Pakistani literature and television.

 

Born in 1933 in Wazirabad, Munnu Bhai gifted the nation with timeless drama serials such as Sona Chandi, Dasht, Tamanna, Gumshuda, Aashiyana, and Khoobsurat. These dramas remain classics, celebrated for their powerful storytelling and emotional depth.

Beyond his literary achievements, Munnu Bhai founded the Sundas Foundation, an organization dedicated to helping children suffering from thalassemia. He served as the foundation’s chairman, tirelessly working to improve lives and bring hope to countless families.

The government of Pakistan awarded Munnu Bhai the Pride of Performance award in recognition of his outstanding contributions.

Munnu Bhai passed away on this day in 2018 in Lahore, but his legacy continues to inspire generations. He will always be remembered for his remarkable contributions to art, culture, and humanity.
