Runway at Karachi Airport to Close Temporarily Each Day

The Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has announced that one of Karachi Airport’s runways will be closed for three hours daily from November 5 to 24, 2025. The closure will take place every day between 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM to allow for construction work. This temporary runway closure is aimed at improving airport infrastructure and ensuring future safety and efficiency.

According to the official NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) issued by the CAA, Runway 7R/25L will be affected. The closure is necessary for the construction of a new taxiway for aircraft. During the 20-day period, this part of the runway will not be available for regular flights during the specified hours.

Despite the scheduled closure, the runway will still be available in case of emergencies or for VVIP flights. Emergency and high-priority operations will not be disrupted, and necessary arrangements have been made to accommodate them.

Airlines operating through Karachi Airport have been informed in advance so they can adjust their schedules. Passengers are advised to check flight timings and plan accordingly to avoid inconvenience during the construction period.
