A video of Pakistan’s aggressive batter Saim Ayub instructing Abbas Afridi not to take a single has gone viral on social media.

In the second T20 match against South Africa, Saim Ayub played a brilliant knock, scoring an unbeaten 98 runs but fell just two runs short of completing his century.

In the match held in Centurion, Pakistan batted first and posted a total of 206/5 in their allotted 20 overs, setting South Africa a target of 207 runs.

The young batter played a magnificent innings, smashing 98 runs off 57 balls, which included 11 boundaries and 5 towering sixes.

However, cricket fans criticised Abbas Afridi and Irfan Khan for not taking singles to help Saim reach his century. Fans believe they should have rotated the strike to support Saim in achieving the milestone.

Now, a video has surfaced showing Saim Ayub instructing Abbas Afridi not to take a single. In the 19.4th over of Pakistan’s innings, Saim, standing at the non-striker’s end, can be heard telling Abbas, “Don’t take a single now.” Following this, Afridi hit a boundary.

The video has sparked mixed reactions among cricket enthusiasts, with some praising Saim’s selfless approach and others lamenting the missed century.
