KARACHI – To prevent overcharging by transporters during the Eid-ul-Adha holidays, the Sindh government has cancelled all leaves of officials from the Provincial Transport Authority, Regional Transport Authorities, and District Transport Authorities.

This decision ensures that transport officers remain on duty throughout the festive period to promptly respond to public complaints and oversee fare compliance across the province.

Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon emphasised that transport fares must strictly follow the rates approved by the government. He noted that Eid-ul-Adha is a time when many citizens travel to reunite with their families, and it is the government’s responsibility to ensure their journeys are smooth and fairly priced.

To facilitate the swift resolution of complaints, the public can directly contact the Deputy Secretary of Transport at 0346-2522641 if local field officers are unavailable or unresponsive.

Sharjeel Memon warned that transporters attempting to overcharge passengers would face serious consequences, stating that the government will take strict action against any violations.
