South Africa set New Zealand a target of 305 runs to win

South Africa has set a target of 305 runs for New Zealand to win the second match of the Tri-Nation Series.

Batting first on New Zealand’s invitation, South Africa scored 304 runs for the loss of six wickets in 50 overs. Debutant Matthew Breetzke played a brilliant innings of 150 runs to help South Africa reach over 300 runs. His innings included five sixes and eleven fours.

This is the highest score by a debutant in ODI cricket, surpassing the records of D.L. Haynes (148), Rahmanullah Gurbaz (127), Colin Ingram (124), and Mark Chapman (124).

New Zealand’s fast bowlers, Will O’Rourke and Matt Henry, took two wickets each, while Michael Bracewell claimed one wicket.
