Strengthening governance: Key meetings with IMF and World Bank
Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb announced that Pakistan is dedicated to continuing its journey toward achieving financial stability. He emphasized that reforms are being implemented to enhance governance and management within government institutions.
In a recent meeting with the World Bank and IMF staff, Minister Aurangzeb provided insights into the ongoing stabilization efforts under the IMF program. He highlighted the importance of reducing excessive costs in the energy sector and fostering a competitive business environment for the private sector.
Earlier, Minister Aurangzeb led a delegation that met with representatives from Citibank, where he shared updates on Pakistan’s economic stability and tax reforms. Discussions also included strategies to streamline the energy sector and reduce the size of government entities.
The minister stressed that taking advantage of international investments at the right time is a vital part of the government’s agenda, aimed at building a stronger and more resilient economy.
