Strong Winds, Heavy Rain May Hit Karachi Soon

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has warned that a low-pressure system near Tharparkar could turn into a depression within 18 to 24 hours. This may bring heavy rain and strong winds to Karachi and other parts of Sindh. Citizens are advised to avoid unnecessary travel due to the risk of dangerous weather conditions.
Deputy Director Anjum Nazir Zaigham stated that this weather system is part of a new monsoon spell, expected to affect southern Sindh districts until September 10. Heavy rain is likely in Karachi, Tharparkar, Umerkot, and nearby areas.
Urban flooding is a major concern, especially in low-lying parts of Karachi. Strong winds up to 70 km/h and poor drainage systems could worsen the situation. People living in flood-prone areas should stay alert and prepared.
So far, the highest rainfall in Karachi has been recorded in Korangi at 8mm. With more rain expected, residents are urged to stay updated and avoid going out during heavy showers.
