Tensions between India and Pakistan, IPL 2025 suspended

Due to escalating tensions between India and Pakistan, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the suspension of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season. The decision follows the launch of “Operation Sindoor” by the Indian Armed Forces.
On May 8, the match between Punjab Kings and Delhi Capitals at HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala was cancelled for security reasons.
A close source within the BCCI confirmed, “The IPL 2025 season has been suspended,” adding that the safety of players, staff, and fans is the top priority.
