Third round of negotiations between PTI and government was held at Parliament House

Islamabad: The third round of negotiations between the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the government’s negotiating committees took place at the Parliament House on Thursday. Senator Irfan Siddiqui, who attended the meeting, provided updates on the proceedings and key developments.

 

During the meeting, Finance Minister Ishaq Dar briefed the committee on the ceasefire situation. PTI’s representative, Omar Ayub, submitted written demands to the Speaker of the National Assembly, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq. It was agreed that the government committee would present its written response within seven working days.

Furthermore, the opposition committee requested a meeting with the leadership in a free and independent environment to discuss the next steps. Senator Siddiqui confirmed that the date for the next round of talks would be announced by the Speaker of the National Assembly.

Meanwhile, members of the government team will hold consultations with their respective leadership and legal experts to prepare a unified stance. After these consultations, the committee will inform the PTI of the collective position.
