Today, the 147th birth anniversary of the poet of the East, Allama Iqbal, is being celebrated across the country.

Today marks the 147th birth anniversary of Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal, Pakistan’s revered philosopher, poet, and thinker, commemorated nationwide with great respect and admiration. A solemn guard-changing ceremony was held at his mausoleum in Lahore to honour his legacy.

A well-dressed contingent from the Pakistan Navy took over guard duties from the Punjab Rangers, who had previously served in this role. Rear Admiral Azhar Mahmood, Commander Central Punjab of the Pakistan Navy, inspected the Navy and Rangers contingents during the ceremony.

Following the guard placement, Admiral Naveed Ashraf, accompanied by Navy officers, sailors, and civilians, laid a floral wreath on Allama Iqbal’s grave in tribute to the national poet. This annual ceremony is a significant tradition, underscoring the nation’s appreciation for Iqbal’s contribution to Pakistan’s ideological foundations and cultural heritage.
