Toxic air in Lahore, pollution levels recorded at an all-time high

The air in Lahore has become toxic, with pollution levels rising significantly. The city’s AQI (Air Quality Index) has been recorded at 1055, making Lahore the most polluted city globally.

India’s capital, New Delhi, ranks second, with its AQI surpassing 1000, making it difficult to breathe in the polluted atmosphere. In Lahore’s Defence Phase 8, the pollution level has reached 1600, while it has been recorded at over 1100 in Askari 10.

Additionally, the AQI has exceeded 1000 in Pakistan Engineering Services and surrounding areas. In Gulberg and its nearby regions, air pollution has reached record-high levels.
