Trump Congratulates Modi on 75th Birthday, First Direct Contact Since June 2025

U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday extended birthday greetings to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of his 75th birthday, marking the first direct contact between the two leaders since June 2025.
According to statements released by both the White House and India’s Ministry of External Affairs, President Trump praised Modi’s leadership during the phone call, saying that he was “doing a remarkable job.”
Trump also expressed optimism about the future of U.S.-India ties, particularly in trade, noting that the two nations could elevate their economic cooperation to a new level in the coming days.
Prime Minister Modi thanked the U.S. President for his warm wishes and affirmed India’s commitment to strengthening its partnership with Washington.
Officials from both sides described the conversation as cordial and forward-looking, underscoring the importance of bilateral relations in global affairs.
