US President Donald Trump has warned that if Hamas does not give up Gaza control, it will be completely destroyed. He said that keeping control of Gaza by force will not be accepted by the world.

In an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper, Trump discussed a 20-point ceasefire plan. He said if Hamas tries to stay in power, the response will be strong and final. Trump added that Hamas must step back to allow peace.

When asked if Hamas has rejected the peace plan by refusing to disarm, holding hostages, and keeping control of Gaza, Trump said, “We’ll see, and respond when the time comes.”

These comments come as indirect peace talks between Hamas and Israel are starting today in Egypt. The US is represented by Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner and special envoy Steve Wotkoff. Both Hamas and Israeli teams are already in Sharm El Sheikh for the meeting.

The future of Gaza control now depends on the outcome of these talks. Hamas has shown some flexibility, possibly agreeing to disarm under international supervision, but still has concerns over several points in the peace deal.
