Two Foreign Nationals Executed in Saudi Arabia for Drug Smuggling

Riyadh – The Saudi Ministry of Interior has announced the execution of two foreign nationals convicted of drug smuggling in the Tabuk and Al-Jawf regions.

According to reports from the Saudi Press Agency, Syrian national Fawaz Al-Bakar was arrested in Al-Jawf for attempting to smuggle a large quantity of narcotic pills into the Kingdom. After being presented in court, he was found guilty based on substantial evidence and his own confession. The court sentenced him to death in accordance with Saudi law.

In a separate case in Tabuk, Jordanian citizen Hassan Ali Al-Atoon was apprehended for smuggling narcotic pills into the country. His case was referred to a specialised drug control court, which issued a death sentence after reviewing all evidence against him.

Saudi Arabia maintains strict anti-narcotics laws, considering drug trafficking a serious crime punishable by the harshest penalties, including the death sentence.
