UK considers visa restrictions for certain countries — will Pakistan be affected?

London: The UK government is reportedly considering imposing visa restrictions on citizens of specific countries whose nationals arrive at work or on student visas and later seek asylum.
According to the UK Home Office, more than 108,000 asylum applications were submitted last year, with Pakistanis topping the list at 10,542 applications, followed by citizens from Sri Lanka (2,862) and Nigeria (2,841).
Media reports suggest that under the proposed policy, it may become more difficult for nationals from Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Nigeria to obtain UK visas.
However, immigration experts argue that visa restrictions alone are unlikely to significantly reduce the number of asylum claims.
