A US news website, Axios, reported that the United States is reviewing plans to send special forces to seize Iran’s nuclear material. According to the report, US considers sending special forces to secure Iran’s nuclear material amid concerns over Tehran’s enriched uranium stockpiles.
The website said that the United States and Israel have discussed the possibility of securing highly enriched uranium in Iran. The goal is to prevent this material, which can be further enriched into weapons-grade uranium within weeks, from falling into the wrong hands.
Earlier reports said US President Donald Trump was considering sending military forces for specific targets in Iran. Approximately 450 kilograms of 60 percent enriched uranium in Iran are a major concern for US and Israeli officials.

Potential operations would require US or Israeli troops to enter Iranian territory and reach heavily fortified underground facilities. It is not yet clear whether this mission would be conducted solely by the US, Israel, or as a joint operation. Officials noted that the mission could only happen if forces are confident that Iranian military resistance can be managed.
Officials said there are two options under review: either fully remove the uranium from Iran or send nuclear experts to reduce its enrichment on-site. The plan may involve special forces along with scientists, possibly including experts from the International Atomic Energy Agency. As a result, US considers sending special forces to secure Iran’s nuclear material has become a key focus in discussions over military options against Tehran.
