Actress Ushna Shah has written an open letter to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz. She called for urgent action to stop cruelty against animals in the province. Ushna shared the letter on her Instagram account. She appreciated the chief minister’s work on cleanliness, safety, and women’s protection. However, she said animal welfare remains a neglected issue.

Ushna referred to a disturbing video from Punjab. The video showed a dog tied to a vehicle and dragged on a main road. She said the footage deeply upset her and many others. Social media users blamed the provincial government for such incidents. She added that repeated abuse cases create a negative public perception.

Moreover, the actress mentioned other reports of animal mistreatment. She highlighted organized dog fights in some areas. She also pointed to abuse of donkeys and poor treatment of animals in markets. Ushna said such acts demand immediate and strong action. She stressed that silence only encourages further cruelty.

In her letter, Ushna proposed several practical measures. She called for strict enforcement of existing animal cruelty laws. She urged the government to ban the domestication of wild animals. Ushna appealed to the chief minister’s sense of compassion. She said kindness to animals aligns with Islamic teachings. She expressed hope that Punjab could lead by example. She added that strong steps could inspire other provinces to act. The actress urged immediate and visible action to protect vulnerable animals.
