Water Levels Rise in Indus River; Medium Flood Reported at Key Barrages

KASHMORE—The Sindh Irrigation Department has reported a notable surge in the water level of the Indus River at Guddu Barrage, with an increase of 24,000 cusecs recorded over the last 24 hours.

According to officials, the Indus River is currently in medium flood at Guddu Barrage, with a flow of 342,093 cusecs entering and 305,957 cusecs being released downstream.

The Flood Forecasting Division (FFD) also confirmed medium flood conditions at Taunsa Barrage, where the inflow stands at 397,500 cusecs and the outflow at 373,000 cusecs.

Meanwhile, the river is in low flood at Sukkur Barrage, where 260,000 cusecs of water are flowing in and 207,400 cusecs are flowing out.

At Kalabagh, the Indus is also in low flood, with an inflow of 240,500 cusecs and an outflow of 232,500 cusecs.

Chashma Barrage is facing similar conditions, with 369,100 cusecs entering and 348,400 cusecs leaving the barrage.
