Why did Salman Agha’s conversation surprise Misbah-ul-Haq?

Former Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq has expressed surprise at skipper Salman Ali Agha’s recent comments, saying the team’s batting struggles begin right at the start of the innings, not just in the middle overs.

After Pakistan’s recent game, Salman Ali Agha said the team needed to improve its batting in the middle phase of the innings. However, Misbah disagreed, stating, “I found that very surprising. The real problem is that we lose our first two batters very early, so the innings starts under pressure straight away.”

He further explained that when spinners come on and fielders move outside the circle, Pakistani batters often lose their wickets at crucial stages. According to Misbah, this recurring issue must be addressed if Pakistan wants consistent performances.

Meanwhile, skipper Salman Ali Agha remained confident, saying the team is ready to face any challenge, regardless of the opposition. Speaking about the upcoming clash against India, he added, “We know the match on Sunday is against India, but we are prepared for every challenge that comes our way.”
