Winter Vacations Begin Across Balochistan as Cold Weather Intensifies

Quetta, Balochistan – Winter vacations for schools, colleges, and universities across Balochistan commenced today (Monday) as the region experienced a significant temperature drop. The Education Department of Balochistan announced the closure of educational institutions in 20 districts, including Quetta, due to the intensifying cold weather.
According to the official statement, educational institutions in areas experiencing extreme cold will remain closed until February 28. The schedule affects the northern and interior districts, where the weather is expected to remain freezing.
In contrast, regions with relatively warmer climates will observe a shorter vacation period. Students in these areas will have a 10-day winter break from January 1 to January 10.
The cold wave continues to grip Balochistan, with temperatures plunging to as low as -1°C in Quetta Valley and -3°C in Kalat. The mountainous areas of the province are expected to experience even colder conditions, with freezing temperatures forecasted for the coming weeks.
The decision to close schools and universities was made to ensure the safety and well-being of students and staff, as the harsh weather conditions make travel difficult in many areas.
